Are you struggling with hot flashes or night sweats?

Struggling with hot flashes or night sweats? Did you know acupuncture and herbal medicine can balance your hormones?

Acupuncture's effectiveness in managing hot flashes lies in its ability to address the underlying imbalances in the body that contribute to these symptoms.

Here's how acupuncture can help reduce hot flashes and night sweats:

1. Hormone Regulation: Acupuncture can influence the release of various hormones in the body, including those involved in temperature regulation, such as estrogen and serotonin. By balancing hormone levels, acupuncture can help reduce the frequency and intensity of hot flashes.

2. Improved Blood Circulation: Acupuncture promotes better blood circulation throughout the body. This can help dissipate excess heat that accumulates during a hot flash, providing relief from the sudden waves of warmth and sweating.

3. Stress Reduction: Stress can worsen hot flashes for many women. Acupuncture has been shown to stimulate the release of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers, and promote relaxation. By reducing stress acupuncture can help reduce the frequency and severity of hot flashes.

4. Balancing Energy Flow: According to East Asian Medical theory, hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms are often associated with imbalances in the flow of energy throughout the body. Acupuncture aims to restore smooth flow thereby alleviating symptoms like hot flashes.

5. Individualized Treatment: Acupuncture is tailored to your unique constitution and symptoms. We’ll assess your specific pattern of hot flashes and design a personalized treatment plan for you.

We’ve had great results at our clinic in helping women find relief from hot flashes and night sweats through regular acupuncture treatments.

How many treatments are recommended?

The standard course of treatment is one treatment per week for 8-12 weeks. The goal is always to reduce your symptoms as much as possible, then start spacing treatments out to see if you can go two, three, or four weeks between treatments and still feel great.

Many patients end up on monthly maintenance treatments. It’s always easier to maintain good results with monthly treatments than it is to let symptoms increase and have to begin all over again.
